Stonewall Youth prioritizes confidentiality and privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, protect, and use the private information you may provide to Stonewall Youth when you contact us via texting or over the phone, sign up to have our newsletters emailed to you, or sign up to have information and updates sent to you via texts/SMS (Short Message Service).
1. Information We Collect
A. When you opt-in (subscribe) to receive newsletters or texts/SMS messages from us, we may collect the following types of information:
Personal Information: Phone number; Name; Email address; Mailing address
Demographic Information: We may request demographic information, such as your age, gender identity, and where you reside (such as county or city). We request information to help us to better understand the people who are accessing our organization and how we can better provide information and services.
B. If you want to contact Stonewall Youth directly via email or phone to ask about specific resources and/or upcoming activities, etc., you don’t need to subscribe to our email or SMS lists. If you contact Stonewall Youth via email or phone, we may ask you for relevant information about your request and situation in order to answer your questions in the best way possible. You are under no obligation to provide any information to Stonewall Youth. We may retain records of the communications for our records. This may include:
Relevant details necessary for effective communication regarding your inquiry
Email, voicemail, or SMS data: the content of voicemail, SMS messages (texts), or emails sent and received; delivery status of SMS messages, voicemails, or emails; and interaction data related to SMS messages, voicemails, or texts.

2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information in these specific ways:
A. Communication: providing updates and essential information to people who request them; responding to inquiries and delivering requested or necessary information or support.
B. Service Improvement: understanding and analyzing the use of our email and phone (SMS and voice) services; and improving our communication methods to better serve youth and other community members.
C. Funding compliance: Providing required information to funders regarding our services. Any collected information we provide to funders is fully anonymized and will never include any names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personal identifying information. For example, we may provide something like “20 youth ages 15-18 contacted us to ask about our paid Fellowships,” but we won’t include any identifying information about those youth.
3. Sharing Your Information
We will not share, sell, or disclose any of your personal identifying information (such as names or phone numbers) to third parties except:
a. Service Providers: We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers that assist us in operating our SMS (texting) or email services. These parties are legally required to maintain the confidentiality and security of your information.
b. Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information in response to a legal request, such as a subpoena, court order, or government demand. We have never had to do this and will do our very best to avoid it.
4. Security of Your Information
Stonewall Youth uses industry-standard security measures to safeguard your data against unauthorized access, use, alteration, destruction, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, mobile networks, or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
a. Opt-Out: You can opt out of receiving SMS messages from us by replying "STOP" to any message or contacting us at (WHERE?). You can opt out of receiving e-newsletters from us by clicking on the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of every e-newsletter.
b. Access and Correction: You can request correction, access to, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at info@stonewallyouth.org
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be effective when we post the revised policy on our website. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Terms and Conditions for Stonewall Youth text alerts (SMS/MMS)
1. Program description: When opted-in, you will receive text messages (SMS/MMS) to your mobile number. These kinds of messages may include responses to specific inquiries from you (such as answering your questions about Stonewall Youth’s events, programs, and opportunities), and alerts about upcoming events and activities.
2. Program frequency: We will very rarely send more than one automatic message each week to alert you about upcoming programs and available resources. You may receive more messages if you text us a specific question (such as “what should I bring to the potluck?”) Message frequency will vary depending on the conversation, but we endeavor to always be brief and to send as few messages as possible. We encourage you to do the same.
3. Opt out: You can opt-out of this service at any time. Just text “STOP” to the phone number. After you text “STOP” to us, we will send you an SMS reply to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time or text “START,” and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.
4. Help: If you are experiencing any issues, you can reply with the keyword HELP.
5. Interruption: Carriers, such as AT&T, are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
6. Costs: We never charge for our services. Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, please contact your wireless provider.
7. Privacy: If you have any questions regarding privacy, please read our privacy policy (see above).
