Fundraising Event and Volunteer Coordinator: Katrina Stern

My name is Katrina Stern and I have lived in Olympia for the past six years.  I moved here from Seattle to go to Evergreen and haven’t left yet.  I never thought I would stay in Olympia but the community has grown on me and I have found a safe place to call my home.

I am currently the Fundraising Event and Volunteer Coordinator for Stonewall Youth.  I have been involved with Stonewall for about 3 years.  My interest in Stonewall started when I was a student at Evergreen.  I decided to do an internship that stretched over 2 quarters.  When I graduated I still wanted to continue my involvement so I became a volunteer and joined the board.  About 6 months ago I was very excited to accept a full time position.  I feel very passionate about the work that Stonewall Youth does and feel honored to have been given this opportunity.

Youth Intern: Timothy Carbary

As the Youth Intern, Timothy focuses on the details that make Stonewall spectacular!  Not only is he a terrific assistant to Heather, Katrina, and Kristyn, but Tim is also the social events coordinator for Youth Activities.  He works diligently to provide fun, safe, and positive experiences for all youth at Stonewall.  Tim puts and amazing effort into Youth Outreach and will soon network between other local LGBTQ groups.

Tim is an Art Student at SPSCC.  His art is renowned by the State of Washington and Governor Gregoire, herself.  Timothy’s artworks contain multimedia collages focusing on current world issues and introspect of him.  Later in life, he plans to become an art teacher and support LCBTQ students find their identities.  He plans to use his art to make social change in the world and help people find their passion for the world.
