About Stonewall Youth
Stonewall Youth supports, informs, and advocates for bisexual, lesbian, gay,
transgendered, queer and questioning youth up to 21 years old. It began
in 1991 as a series of community meetings to discuss the needs of GLBTQQ youth
in the area. The people involved had drive, passion, and vision that
grew into providing a consistent weekly support group for youth that still
continues to meet today. Since then, Stonewall Youth has grown
in amazing and wonderful ways. Weekly support group meetings are still
happening and usually have anywhere from five to thirty people present.

The Stonewall Youth Speakers Bureau is a group of young people who go to
local youth groups, community events, schools, and agencies, and talk to people
in their communities about their experiences being GLBTQQ
youth. This project
helps break down people’s stereotypes about young LGBTQQ
people, and
creates a space for young people to share their ideas about community issues
with community members.
